Planning to visit family and friends in Portugal? Here’s a comprehensive checklist of the required documents to ensure a smooth visa application process:

Mandatory Documents:

Original Passport – Must be valid for at least six (06) months from the date of travel, along with old passports (if any).
Photographs – Two (02) recent color photos (35mm x 45mm, white background, matte finish, 80% face coverage).
Cover Letter – A letter detailing your travel and stay arrangements in Europe.
Bank Statement – Original updated bank statement for the last six (06) months with a sufficient balance, duly signed and stamped by the bank.
Income Tax Returns/Form 16 – For the last three (03) years.
Return Air Tickets – Confirmed round-trip flight tickets.

Invitation Letter from the sponsor.

Important Notes:

Every applicant must personally submit their documents at Schengen VFS.
Visa fees are non-refundable if the visa is refused.
Biometric submission (fingerprints) is mandatory; ensure no cuts, henna, or scratches on your hands.
Visa fees may change without prior notice.
Applicants below 18 years are exempted from visa fees but must pay the VFS service charge and VAYD charge.
